Cool opening.

Great animation.

Violetta Bertini • 1 year ago

The last bit with Orphen and Corgon running felt a bit off, but I like the Kageyama Hironobu's vibe that op has šŸ’Ŗ

Paradise SLU • 1 year ago

Totally, thanks for your comment.

Itā€™s Yaboi • 1 year ago

my god all these haters in the comments, why comment if you think its bad, go watch something else, why waste your time making others like myself who like this have to scroll negative comments. Before you say I dont I like to comment on episodes myself sometimes even reading what others have to say. Now I will say this the pacing may be slow and the animation may be abi ass at times season 3 bieng one of the slower seasons, back on topic its a decent anime is is getting too much hate in my opinion.

KianMaster • 1 year ago

the comment section is made to express your opinion. as long as someone's not being disrespectful its okay. understand that not everyone will share those views of a certain video or in the case this anime.. thats ok. this the internet

Now in my case I actually want to watch this but I dont know where to start cause searching the title lead me to all kinds of versions, i dont know which is canon or not.

Itā€™s Yaboi • 1 year ago

Still if you dont like it that much than dont comment. It really isnt that hard, really if you dont have anything constrictive than to say that its abd and its trash than why comment at all.

Porthya • 10 months ago

The first season of the remake is from 2020, the older version had fillers, this one follows the LNs. If you still want to watch it, you start with the title from 2020, and then go chronologically, Kimluk, Urbanrama, then this. There's an OAV too, like an extra ep, I think it goes between S1 and 2.
As for the comments, Yaboi has a point, we're already on S4 and yet there are always a couple of trolls who keep coming back(on almost every new episode) to say creepy, cringy and idiotic stuff, even on different accounts, since the phrasing stays pretty much the same, even after I block some of them.
I get that this type of storytelling is rather niche and a bit antiquated, but people who can't keep up should just learn to let go, there's hundreds or thousands of other anime they can watch and let those who enjoy this...well...enjoy it.
Especially since they're not bringing any actual criticism to the series, aside from the animation(but, eh, it's deen, so far it still managed to float above NnT S3 and 4).

AnimeSenpai2003 • 1 year ago

I dropped this after watching season 2.....still not sure to continue this anime from season 3 or notā˜¹ļø.

xdeltabitezx • 1 year ago

I give you several reasons not to see the third, especially because of the errors in the second, and the first seasons:

First is the kid duo that annoys Orphen, they're not funny and they still get screen time.

Second is that the killer robots of the 1st season weren't great at all, and now it turns out that the bad ending, and the Pope of his world, is shaped like one. What was the creator really thinking when designing characters?

Third is that at the end of the day the real villain of the series is a goddess who is strangling another goddess-nun from another dimension, and that when she finishes strangling her, in a few hundred years humanity will supposedly be destroyed. There's nothing epic about that, it sounds random and cringe, but we have to take it seriously.

Fourth, Cleo has no real use. She's just the "girl" of the group. She supposedly got a magical dragon-dog attached to her, but that doesn't even make sense, it's a random device to pretend she's relevant.

Fifth, the character design sucks, and I think that was explained when I described the villains. From goddess-nuns, dog-shaped dragons, useless feminine people whose only hope might be sex-appeal, decide to wear either pure black (Azallie) or masculine pants and shirts (Cleo). I can't imagine anyone considering Cleo her waifu this season, let alone the previous ones. Maybe the one from the 1999 anime, but not this one. Less I imagine them buying collectibles from one of Orphen's villains. Am I right or not?

Sixth, the show's lack of real comedy, or at least lighthearted moments. The jokes of Cleo and Majic's mistakes are not laughable, and Orphen being a grump who complains about absolutely EVERYTHING that exists, does not make him very charismatic.

With all the points gathered, why watch a third season? And more on top of that low-budget Opening that half of it are recycled scenes from the 2nd season. Let's just pass by, let's spoil something from those who saw it in the comment box. If curiosity is too much, in any case, download the video and watch it at X4, maybe one loses nothing with super speed, with the low level of animation of the series itself it really doesn't matter.

Yes, the 1998 anime was much better, because although it was a product based only "somewhat" on the novels, the horrible reality is that the original novels were terrible, and we can only demonstrate this by seeing this new adaptation that is apparently 100% faithful to these

Kelvin Celsius • 1 year ago

I agree with you the show is good but for me that cleo annoys the shit out of me, she so annoying all she does is cause more problem and trouble then run to orphen to take care of it, worse part was when the creator gave her the dragon dog thingy.. She then became super useless depending on the little dog 100% ugh I hate her šŸ‘æ

majaketrix • 1 year ago

This anime isn't that good or bad compared to other shows but I will watch it till end,I wanna see what becomes of apprentices of childman

LegoOnTheGroundYouMissed • 1 year ago

I knew the knight chick was gonna be trouble

LegoOnTheGroundYouMissed • 1 year ago

WOOOO MORE!

Moral of why orphen got his 4th season:
dont be edgy anime nerd
Look at reality something like this now on their many many season meanwhile other anime cant, look at mirror introspection its our timeline got something like this, why? Becoz they can and some other not just like that

Synchro • 1 year ago

From the start, they said they were remaking the whole series like what they did with Dragon quest: the adventure of Dai. I know why people getting mad at this getting a another season when their goal was finishing this to the end.

Violetta Bertini • 1 year ago

Plus this is actually popular in Japan, which is often a major factor in decreeing if series X will get cancelled or renewed.

Yamamoto Takeshi • 1 year ago

The MC is a bit edgy though..

Sukehiro Yami • 1 year ago

Never understood why such a low rated anime gets a new season almost constantly.. no hate, I literally don't understand. Is there a market for this in Japan or something? Genuine question. Because if the story is decent but only has bad animation, that's not exactly a fair rating for any anime ._.

Violetta Bertini • 1 year ago

Yes, very popular in Japan and it was a major franchise in the 90s (ie: a lot of kids from then grew up and now they have a budget to purchase more).

Plus I don't think is so abysmally rated, is it?

Sukehiro Yami • 1 year ago

It actually is rated very poorly ._. not even a average anime poorly. Will give it a try I guess as long as it has a decent story.

Violetta Bertini • 1 year ago

It has 4.1/5 average on Crunchyroll out of 1.4k votes; far from a flop.

LesK • 1 year ago

on MAL the previous season has a 6.12 outta 10 with 1,602 voting members.

Violetta Bertini • 1 year ago

Which is still not "a flop", plus I would trust places where people go and pay (like CR) a bit more.

Sukehiro Yami • 1 year ago

It has a 5 rating on mal though. I guess it depends where you go but in general it's not a very talked about anime, even in anime communities. It may not be a flop but it isn't even slightly popular or even average :/ and the comments say as much tbh.

Enemy Of Humanity (Alice) • 5 months ago

Looks like everyone in the comments agree that season 3 was boring and this arc is already better. Finally we get to learn about the dwarves. I knew they had a purpose.

Scooper Gaban • 1 year ago

Fourth season of the remake based on the already completed light novel, Mage Orphan, written by Yoshinobu Akita and illustrated by Yuuya Kusaka, with 20 volumes produced in almost ten years and 15 million copies in circulation. This season's theme will be the sanctuary arc, but it's good to know that there are still three episodes left from last season that ended up stagnant due to an unexpected hiatus caused by COVID (that is, the last season is unfinished and for now there is no date to show the last three episodes). The studio is still Deen (Log Horizon, Nanatsu no Taizai, KonoSuba, Sankarea, Kore wa Zombie, among others). To tell you the truth, I watched the first season and despite some good doses of humor , I found it REALLY boring. Even the art didn't find those things there either. But taste is taste and with all that sales and seasons produced, it's logical that a lot of people enjoy it and are successful.

LesK • 1 year ago

there were 20 books in the 'main series' published from 1994-2003 by Yoshinobu Akita. then he wrote 13 side story novels containing short stories of mostly comedic and lighthearted plotlines from 1996-2003. in 1997 Mr. Yoshinobu wrote 2 more side story novels, but these were full length novels not short stories. from 2011-2015 he released a 10-book series set twenty years AFTER the 'main series' events, with older versions of the main characters, as well as their children. in 2019 Mr. Y started yet ANOTHER series of novels in the 'main series' but at present there are only three books total planned for that series. only the 1st has been published.

so totaling all that up? there about 46 books in the Orphen franchise. the original 20 are already translated in English and being published in physical and Eformat versions. if you're curious about the English version look them up here: j-novel . club/series/sorcerous-stabber-orphen

Scooper Gaban • 1 year ago

Cool! Thank you for your feedback, Lesk! And yes, this is one of the cases that I have more interest in novel than the anime. Sometimes I think the studio doesn't put enough effort to make justice to novel or manga works.

kyoshiromibu • 1 year ago

The season 3 was boring for me. Let's hope that's not the case here. It shouldn't but they made season 3 like that. So, who can say.

the story of s3 make my brain explode, becoz not like him searching what he want, even he meet other friend from school its just like really weird story since ep1 till end

Archie Andrew's 1000 • 1 year ago

S3 made me cringe with the really long arc, also sleepy every time watching it.

kyoshiromibu • 1 year ago

yes I know it was not this Anime's style.

Why this garbage, why this terrible why tizz, hahahaha fool

Mr Stolen Donghua • 1 year ago

Imagine being this bored to write an entire essay as reply šŸ˜…šŸ˜…šŸ˜…

xdeltabitezx • 1 year ago

I guess he has a big fanbase in Japan, or they are Japanese who grew up with the 1999 anime, and they see it believing that it will be the same or better. Even if it's worse, they won't accept it, and they still keep watching it, believing that it will get better at some point, but I doubt it.

Personally, it seems boring to me, both the fighting, character design, logic, world construction, everything seems random and not at all charismatic.

Synchro • 1 year ago

Because they are remaking the whole series from beginning to end šŸ¤£šŸ¤£šŸ¤£

imagine a creepy kid
XD

Lee John Shen • 1 year ago

I like the fact that I know at an instant upon seeing orphen getting season 4 will trigger lotsa western audience(yes western audience are so far the ones that I met were able to be triggered by this for some reasons). And I like it better because I really enjoy this anime LMAO seeing modern people cannot fathom how 80s' era story telling works is a bliss

and bless them working so hard until orphen got him more season, to seasoning western

Porthya • 10 months ago

I'm "Western" and I like it, it takes a bit of memory jogging when there are bigger gaps between the arcs, and plenty of the world is still building up, but it's fun to put it together like a puzzle board.

Lee John Shen • 10 months ago

It's nice to meet the rare type of western audience watching this show, I don't really put a lot of thinking into it but I like how everything is going on. Guess this whole stuff is probably too abstract for some people out there.

LesK • 1 year ago

apparently you don't know... there were 20 books in the 'main series' published from 1994-2003 by Yoshinobu Akita. then he wrote 13 side story novels containing short stories of mostly comedic and lighthearted plotlines from 1996-2003.

LesK • 1 year ago

correct, the first 20 LN were published from 1994-2003

I don't really remember the time being a boomer geezer but that's not the most important part
